Indoor vs. Outdoor Brand Sessions: Why We Prefer to Keep Things Indoors

In the world of photography, the debate between indoor and outdoor brand sessions often sparks discussions among both photographers and clients. Each setting offers its own unique advantages and challenges, but over here at ATP, we have a preference for indoor sessions.

1. Variety and Control: Indoor sessions provide us with a wide range of settings and backdrops to choose from. Whether it’s a chic urban loft, a cozy coffee shop, or a sleek modern office space, indoor venues offer endless possibilities for creating visually captivating images. Additionally, being indoors allows us to have more control over the environment, including lighting conditions and other elements that can affect the quality of the photos.

2. Lighting Control: One of the biggest advantages of indoor sessions is the ability to control the lighting. Outdoor natural light is beautiful, but it can be unpredictable, especially when shooting outdoors in Texas. By opting for indoor sessions, we can manipulate lighting sources to achieve the desired mood and ambiance for the shoot. This ensures consistent and flattering lighting throughout the session, resulting in stunning images that truly showcase our clients’ brands.

3. Weather Isn’t an Issue: Living in Texas, we know firsthand how unpredictable the weather can be. From scorching heat to sudden downpours, outdoor shoots are often at the mercy of Mother Nature. Indoor sessions offer a respite from these weather-related challenges, allowing us to work comfortably regardless of the forecast. Our clients can relax knowing that their shoot won’t be disrupted by rain, wind, or extreme temperatures.

4. Variety of Props and Vignettes: Indoor venues often come equipped with a variety of props, furniture, and vignettes that can enhance the visual storytelling aspect of the shoot. From stylish furniture to unique decor elements, these props can add depth and dimension to the photos, making them more visually engaging and memorable.

While we prefer indoor sessions for the reasons mentioned above, we understand that some clients may have their hearts set on an outdoor setting. In such cases, we are more than happy to accommodate their preferences by selecting a venue with outdoor options available. However, we always encourage our clients to consider the benefits of indoor sessions and the creative possibilities they offer.

Indoor brand sessions offer a multitude of advantages, including variety, lighting control, weather resilience, comfort, and access to props and vignettes. At ATP, we believe that these benefits contribute to a more enjoyable and successful photography experience for both photographers and clients alike. So why not step inside and let us capture the essence of your brand in a setting that’s as beautiful as it is versatile?
